The U.S. Hickory Open (USHO) is the premier hickory golf tournament in the United States and the 11th U.S. Hickory Open is scheduled for Sept. 16-18, 2018 on the historic Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Many of you know this course from watching the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship on television.
Sedgefield is a 1926 Donald Ross design, built during a prolific and creative time in the famous architect’s life. Attractions in the area for guests and spouses are the beautiful and scenic Blue Ridge Mountains and Parkway, the Uwharrie National Forest, the Greensboro Science Center, and Greensboro’s popular Antique Market Place.
The $365 entry fee will include a practice round, two tournament rounds, heavy hors d’oeuvres reception party, Monday dinner, banquet/awards awards, and a tee gift.
2018 USHO organizers Chris Deinlein and Hamp Munsey are excited about the event and eager to show off the club where both are members. “It is an exceptional club and a beautiful golf course,” Deinlein says. “We’ll do everything we can to ensure the players and guests have a wonderful visit. The club is excited to have the USHO.”
The 2017 USHO was held in July on the Del Monte Golf Course in Del Monte, Calif. where Nico Bollini, a top California amateur golfer, won the overall title. (Click here to see the story.)
